2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon shows up on eBay with ridiculous $250K price tag

Another day, another news update about the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Just a few days after it was reportedly having issues with its production line, we’re back with news regarding the Demon. If you’re interested to be one of the first owners of the 3,300 units of the said model, then this surely will get your attention.

2018 Dodge Challenger Demon Hits eBay With Stupid $250k Price | Carscoops

Last week, Dodge officially announced that the Challenger SRT Demon will have a price tag of $84,995. But what is interesting is that there is already an eBay listing for an example of the fastest quarter-mile production car. So, you don’t have to wait until this fall to get your hands on a $84,995 Dodge from the manufacturer, but you can instead get one for three times the price at $250,000, from the well-rated eBay seller.

The seller described the car as “by far the most powerful, mean looking, rare, and ridiculous production car ever made”. However, based on his description, we have doubts whether this guy already has the car on hand or is still waiting for his appointment at the dealership so he can order one. That is when he said that upon buying, there still has to be a discussion on the exact ordering specifications. He also said that if the purchase is made past the order date then the buyer will have to settle with the options chosen by the eBay seller.

So he obviously doesn’t have the car on hand. This seller is practically selling a car that he has never seen yet, and he does not even have a VIN number. But that is quite a shrewd move to make over $100,000 worth of profit – buy a future classic and tell the world that only 3,300 examples will be produced.

The seller added that the photos he used were shared by the public and that he used a different VIN as eBay would not let him post the item without one, and that prospect buyers should disregard the VIN.

Dodge already announced that the production of the Demon will begin in late summer and should be ready for deliveries by late fall. Therefore, whether you order the Dodge from the automaker or the eBay reseller, you won’t be getting your car in less than four months from now.

To give you a refresher, the Challenger SRT Demon comes with a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine producing 808 horsepower, but customers can push its engine even further with the Demon Crate package, pushing the horsepower up to 840. This enables it to reach a quarter-mile in just 9.65 seconds at 140 miles per hour.
