Audi RS Hypercar Concept by Milen Ivanov

It sure looks like an Audi version of the Bugatti Chiron. In any case, we’re totally impressed. Milen Ivanov, a Behance artist from Bulgaria imagines the future Audi RS hypercar with a touch of Chiron styling cues. What we find rather interesting was how he made the RS Concept’s single frame grille including the sleek head lights and tail lights become undeniably Audi. Now who could beat that?

The stunning concept features an aggressive set of aerodynamics treatment, a set of wheels with futuristic turbine design plus video cameras instead of side mirrors. While the front section is covered in color blue, the remaining parts come in naked carbon fiber finish.

Other than Bugatti, Ivanov possibly has taken inspirations from an Audi R18 e-tron Quattro Endurance race car (in terms of shape) or even Porsche’s 918 Spyder. The R-18 e-tron Quattro won Le Mans in 2012 and comes with 60-liter fuel tank and a reduced air intake restrictor. Since this was a race car, there were many changes applied not only to shave off some weight but also to meet the racing standards.

Audi RS Q8 nâng tầm hiệu suất, mạnh ngang hypercar Bugatti Veyron

This includes the use of Oz magnesium forged wheels wrapped in Michelin’s 360/710 R18 and 370/710R18 set of tires. They also put in the Xtrac sequential six speed racing gearbox with carbon fiber composite housing, Dallara’s carbon fiber composite aluminum honeycomb monocoque with carbon clutch plus titanium inserts.

In contrast, the new Audi E-tron Sportback concept is already featuring small cameras on both ends replacing the convectional side mirrors just as what Ivanov did with his stunning hyper car concept. According to Audi, the absence of traditional door mirrors works to improve air flow as well as reduce the wind noise when driving at high speed.

The Porsche 918 Spyder on the other hand is part of the so-called holy trinity of hyper cars which includes the McLaren P1 and Ferrari La Ferrari. If ever Volkswagen Group should consider an Audi hyper car in the future, Ivanov’s Audi RS concept would be a better replacement for Porsche’s plain looking 918 Spyder. Just saying…

Then again, this will remain a concept for now. We know that Audi recently ended its racing program as instigated by the diesel emissions scandal. That means a hypercar may be the least of their priorities. Fortunately, though, it won’t be long until the new E-tron Sportback concept will turn into reality. Audi plans to put the concept into production within the next two years. The question is, will it come with no side mirrors too?
