Opel Astra Sedan Revealed

2013 Opel Astra Sedan – Opel has revealed official debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show. The Opel Astra Sedan will come with four gasoline engines, ranging from 100 to 180 horsepower, and three economical diesel units to meet Europe’s CO2-based taxation laws. Unlike in the U.S. where sedans are often the cheaper alternative in a range, Opel is pitching the Astra sedan as a more elegant choice, and more affordable than premium sedans in higher segments.

The new Astra sedan measures 4,658 (length) / 1,814 (width) / 1,476 mm (height) and has a wheel base of 2,685 mm providing 460 liters of trunk volume and a maximum of 1,010 liters when the 60:40 split rear seats are folded down.

Seven engines will be available at market launch : four gasoline units ranging from 100 HP (74 kW) to 180 HP (132 kW) and three diesel engines going from 95 HP (70 kW) to 130 HP (96 kW). Opel is also offering a Start/Stop system for the 1.7 CDTI ecoFLEX models that allows fuel consumption to go down to 3.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Three of the gasoline engines are available with a six-speed automatic transmission.

In recognizing Russia as a key market, Opel will officially launch the new Astra Sedan at the 2012 Moscow Auto Salon in August.
